All the stories start at some point. Our story starts with Arbeca.

Arbeca is a small village located in the area of Les Garrigues in the Lleida region, an olive growing area par excellence. The Romà family owns a large estate of olive trees in this village since almost 30 years; therefore we can say that this is Dauliba’s birthplace.

Some decades ago, there was not any tree, though. The Romà family used this estate to produce aggregates as raw materials for their construction company. Once the family exhausted the aggregates that came from the estate, they decided to add value and continuity to the estate through its restoration and the plantation of olive trees. In that moment the family made the olives cultivation passion a dream come true. That was the very beginning of the whole project.

From a family dream to a unique product launch.

It has been a long time and much happened since the early conception of the project until obtaining the final output, a very unique premium olive oil made from pitted olives.

Marcel Romà had in mind this idea since more than 20 years ago. He thought - if stones are usually removed from fruits in order to create fruit juice, why don’t we try the same with the olives? - Marcel and his niece Isaura, together with all the family decided to start pushing the project forward.

The Romà family always had a clear concept of the desired brand, a new olive oil brand made from pitted olives. They wished their customers would feel the natural, intense, and fresh scent of the green olives when tasting the oil. However, in order to obtain a different outcome, we need to make a great effort in terms of resources and time investment beforehand. After a while, the family found out the sophisticated machinery that would allow them to reach a further step. It was a machine specially made for dauliba that would carefully remove the stone before crushing the olives and would extract only the juice from the pulp.

Willingness, love and passion to launch dauliba.

Dauliba is an Organic olive oil. Our olives go through an initial ripening stage during the harvest in order to maximise the potential flavour of the oil; and they are harvested at daybreak to guarantee a low temperature –always less than 25ºC- and improved storage for their journey to the press. The result? The distinctive characteristics of green and early harvest olive oil: a highly fruity olive, a green grass aroma and a subtle touch of spice all of which creates a flavour which is both intense but delicate to taste, with the sweet hint of the Aberquina olive but with the really low astringency often brought by the stone.

Our branding.

In Lleida region we call “auliva” to olives. This is a different way of pronunciation compared to the rest of Catalonia areas that truly inspired our naming. In that manner dauliba brings us a traditional hint which is indeed one of our strong brand values.

The bottle design represents the reinvention of a traditional product such as an olive with a prominent innovative touch – the olive is drawn unstructured - . We aimed to express this innovative hint in the bottle since we can identify it with our innovative production process. Apart from that we can appreciate two olive wings in the design. The upper wing pretends to be related to the removed stone, whereas the lower wing denotes the olive juice that finally comes out from the olive.

This is definitely a daring design, born from the deep inspiration, and overall born from the strongest passion.
